Publisher Gill Books approached me to create the illustrations for this children’s book by author Deborah Somorin. The goal of the illustrations was to be bright and vibrant to match the themes of the story, optimism and self-belief. It was important that the character design was true to Deborah's heritage, taking subtle design cues from her family's appearance while also giving the characters personalities of their own.
